Drink is me, I am drink, have a shot and have a think
Have a laugh and have a cry, forget my past I have to try.
Blindness comes to close the eyes, the deeds I’ve done must learn to fly
But lives are made and some are gone, to count the cost we must go on.
Reaching through the mists of fear, the times you need the words to hear,
Through tears of grief one last sharp breath, it’s not that short a leap to death.
But death a sleep to end it all, from what great heights we seem to fall?
For now we fear the blinding light, to keep our life we need to fight.
And fight we do, to show our strength, for keeping breathe there is no length
The depths we plunge the heights we climb for another chance, we pray for time.
More time to do the things we crave, to see the ones we long to save,
We save the love built up through time, invested through discourse and sometimes rhyme.
But die we must, return to soil, no more through life we need to toil,
A memory lost, a thought passed by, for some short time, our loved ones cry.
But tears soon pass and life goes on, we need not know our mourners gone.
Our bodies burn and turned to ash, a once proud person bold and brash,
But gone we find the soul at rest through life we said we tried our best.
So back to earth we cast our soul , the worms, the grass shall take their toll.
As mourners leave this place alone, we see the faces that we’ve known
Throughout our time here down on earth, remember loved ones from our birth.
A lifelong dream to make amends, to live with love to live with friends.
To love the life we have for now, our curtain falls we take our bow.
Our story ends the audience leaves, the mourners gone, trees shed their leaves.
A last long look at what we had, all gone for now, it’s not so bad!
