Sunday! Not raining so it’s a ride out for breakfast. A pot of Earl Grey and a bacon sarnie! Why not? Another trek into Tynemouth (I’m sure it is you know) it’s not too sunny, it’s not too cold (I sound like fucking goldilocks! What j have noticed thoughts the dirth of arsehole pushbikers on the road! Just because you wear a fucking yellow hi viz vest doesn’t mean you can meander across the white lines in the road without incident. Truly you can try it but I’d watch out for ANYTHING with and engine! I don’t often use this word online in my blog, but stop being ignorant cunts. It’s YOUR fault if you get hit by being dicks! Old ir Young I’ve seen them all this morning.
Now my hair is getting to the stage where I can brush it down by one side of me neck like Farrar Fawcet (?) ah bless, when I get bed head, I get BED HEAD!!!!! It looks like I have been possessed by the spirit of the Evil Dead! Not a good look at all. However, it does make me smile sometimes when I pull up at a set of traffic lights with me visor down and my blonde hair is falling out the back and sides, I get some strange looks from the lads that pull by my side in their jazzed up puntos with bean can exhausts and some dross screeching out their music system. As I wind my right hand the look turns to abject horror as I hit the hyperspace button and disappear in a cloud of feathers and paper.
The thing is, today is a bit of a rest day for me really (I know I’m retired but bare with me) I have some fucking fantastic news from the H4H camp! I have been offered a place on a road trip across Route 66 next month. Ten days in the saddle (or pillion) starting with two days in Vegas! My heart skipped a beat when I was informed I was in the trip. Then the week after I come back I’m riding to Normandy for the D-day landings (I know I’m a few years late, but I have another seven days in France) all I have to do is get the flights paid for to the USA (please don’t hijack me, that would REALLY piss me off) then the ferry to French France 🙂 I’m now realising what can be achieved through positive help! Not negative reinforcement of course there will be photos and blogs from the road 😊
