Ashes to ashes, funk to funky. We know Major Tom’s a junkie

Two connertations here! My morning started early for some reason! (I really can’t decide why, but  it did though)  I jumped in me car (after tidying up!!) really, tidying up in the morning! WTF? Never the less! I tidied then put the bins out (a usual Thursday thing) then jumped in the car and drove! I can honestly say with hand on heart j had no idea where I would end up! (Even though it’s bike weather, I took the car???) again, WTF?

I ended up (so far so good) at a post office with an envelope so I sent that! Mission accomplished (I think! I don’t know. My morning was pretty fucked up) as I wondered around (little lost soul) I stumbled onto the Ashington garden of remeberence! Now whoever planned this and bribed the money together to build this thing, I applaud them. It’s a beautiful peaceful place. Well kept (apart from a few patches, but I think they are a work in progress) the statue has been there for ages but it’s been given a new home on the plinth in the middle of the garden.

As I walked around admiring the love that went into it,(and the memories it evokes) I started reading the inscriptions! Both the Great War and the Second World War are commemorated and I surprised meself by finding THREE of my family on that stone! You’ll see below they were all part for the Northumberland Fusiliers (I think) and I gave myself the task of reseaching these fallen brethren. Their stories will get published in the future. I really didn’t think about my family and the wars (even though I’ve played in three myself). That’s the first incarnation of the title.

The afternoon was taken up by aimlessly driving around wandering what to do next! Cinema! Of course! Food first then cinema. Unfortunately my timings were shite again and I ended up sitting in the cinema without food inside me. Not to worry really because if I had a full stomach I would have laughed it all out again. I went to see DEADPOOL. Oh my fucking life!!!!! I don’t care if you love or hate superhero flix, you NEED to see this film. From the opening credits to the closing scroll it is a huge chimmy changa of a scream. Yes all the hype is true. It’s as good as you think it will be. (And then some)
