Its strange how half the country blunders back into routine today. Well, after the tantrums, the missing ties, the dirty PE kit, the lack of homework over the holiday period! And that’s just the teachers!!!! I applaud you guys for what you do. You give up your evenings, your mornings, your social life (nearly) to bring a little education into the lives of the next generation. I might not agree with the content, but hey, they need to fill their days instead of terrorising the elderly!
I find myself back in my cafe (up north) watching the world going by again. The masses walking hand in hand with their loved ones, their children. Chatting vividly to their friends discussing whatever it is people discuss. But I find it more comforting now really. As things change for one, nothing changes for everyone (perceived I know) but this thin shield from the world shuns noises, the mouths move but silence abounds. Maybe for the best eh?
To the point! I find myself at an impass, decisions need to be made and plans need to be formulated. I know in a couple of weeks I’m going into the highlands of sweaty sock land for a while (riding horses in the wild!) but after that. Do I start to travel the length and breadth of Britain, collecting stickers/ photographs and titbits for these missives or do I stay at home and concentrate on my book? The preface is done, the chapters are sorted (well the titles anyway) and the front cover has been imagined. (I even have a published author on side with patronage)
STILL I look around at the exposed kneecaps of girls/ women. WHY?? No matter I suppose it’s fashion (again) I shall leave you with this. In coffee shops all over the world, they serve you a plethora of choices for your coffee, in reality, there are only two. Black or White!
