Whitley bay, well to be more precise tynemouth (I think). To be more exact I’m in a little cafe/ bistro located inside the old Catholic Church on the corner of the Main Street drinking an earl grey and sampling some sort of lemon cake! Lots of tourists, lots of cyclists (the great north ride is on today) unfortunately, my patience wears thin with motorists who cannot comprehend they are allowed to overtake cyclists, as long as they give them enough room of course.the amount of nob jockeys happy waiting for an age on a long straight clear road to get ahead is unbelievable.
This cafe is starting to fill up with some wired strange folk now, some of them from the town of Royston Vasey I’m sure! It’s lovely though, the ambiance is very sedate for a bustling coastal town. A nice refrain from Costa or Starbucks! I’ve already been around the ruined castle on the cliffs, and looking at the amount of motorbikes parked up next to mine there must be a pub I’m missing (or a fish and chip shop)
The reason for today’s outing (apart from it’s a Sunday and I have fuck all else to do) is to deploy my new prime lens on me canon, it’s supposed to enhance portraits and stuff like that (I’m not fully offay with it as of yet, but give me a couple of hours clicking away. The only problem is asking folk if I can snap their image, (at least I ask first) I happen to have bought one of these lenses for a present a couple of years ago and wondered ever since then what it was like (I’ll never see ‘Lensy’ again)
My next task (after this pot of tea) is to bugger off to Crambodia to purchase a hard drive for me Mac. I’ve just looked at me old one in the house before I came out and notices bits falling off it, wires loose and worse still, no memory left on it. I’ve found some HUGE ones for little price in Currys so I might as well do that! Or go home, watch the telly and make steak and schools for me tea. Whatever the day brings, I would love to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy bank holiday (don’t scream at the traffic, it don’t scream back)
