now it’s a Wednesday! I had a couple of appointments to get to today and one of them was a visit to the Post Office (an arduous affaire at the best of times what with old people wanting someone to talk to and shop worked with thousands of bags of pennies to account for) but what I wasn’t expecting was one of our future standing trying to argue postal service conditions with the post master himself. It wasn’t until I listened in for a little while longer that I realised the “Student” didn’t have a clue what she was on about and she was trying to convince the PM he was wrong. Well, after about five minutes even I wanted to smite her with the wrath of God. She eventually left the queue with a flea in her ear and told to come back when she knew what she actually wanted to do 😄
Now it’s been a while since I did me back in and standing in the post office gave me a little respite from the pain (I chuckled as I approached the counter). Today sees me sitting in a cafe with a cup of tea (Earl Grey for the decerning viewers) I know my usual tipple is a strong coffee to clean me out, but sitting down straining anywhere fills me with dread (if you’re eating your tea reading this, oops!)
one of my main gripes a while ago was the amount of criticism my home town has come into for the fact that we have the most mobility shopping buggies in the country! Well again today nearly 70% of all those I encountered in cramlington were trussed up in these contraptions, some with oxygen masks making them look like ancient ‘Darth Vaders’ all of them well past their expiry date! Those who weren’t being electrically driven around had been perched on the wooden benches scattered around the place by their children in need of a quicker walk around the stores. Painful to watch, but that’s society for you.
