##########SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO DONT LISTEN###########

#######################TOO LATE########################

When the day breaks and your plans take on a life of their own you know things are going to go right. Awake at the crack of dawn (not much sleep to be honest) and the sun streaming through the window, I knew I was in for good day. My diary consisted of looking at a flat this morning, a two bedroom flat to boot 🙂 keys were available, Soldiers Off The a Street to meet me there with the rep from the housing group. All Read thoroughly and meter readings taken, it was signed sealed and delivered. The guys from SOTS measured up the rooms for various items to be moved in within the next couple of days and one happy smile appeared across my face. More about this place in later blogs.
Ashington Main Street was bathed in sun too (even the local skallies couldn’t dull the shine). Market stalls abounded and it sort of looked like Main Street was returning to life, like a dormant volcano (except if this one blew up, no one would care too much) food stalls, snack stalls (I know a lot of you know what a market looks like, but believe me, Ashghanistan NEEDS something like this). Of course it’s a bugger that 75 million quid is going to be used to upgrade the town centre………again! So we will most likely lose this asset.
So with the big burning star, totally visible in the azure blue skies, casting it’s warming rays directly onto me, I feel good. Even organisations who have denied me over the last few weeks have phoned up to tell me I really did serve in the military. Everything is coming up roses (for me) now let’s not try to screw me over!
So this instalment is just to keep you updated on the way things have been panning out. When it all gets settled, a complete summery of events (including time frame telephone numbers and contacts) will be published on here, hopefully it will be of some use to any other vets coming back to the North East, it may help them, in ANY way at all. So for now I’ll sign off and hope the sun god Ra shines into your life today and forever.
