I found out today that the temperature here in the morning, bares NO resemblance to whatever its going to be about 40 seconds later. It was hot again, but then again why shouldn’t it be? i know the night last night didn’t touch much below 26 degrees and it was a sweaty one (and not in the good (I’m doing stuff i shouldn’t do) way) As soon as i came out the shower, i had a bead on and thought about getting straight back in, but i resisted and went over to start my work day (Morning) with Jay.
10 minutes loading the truck up with the assortment of wood we stained last week and we left. Visiting a pool that had been rescued by a complete water transfusion and we went into carpentry mode building a fence to keep a two year old in and away from their pool. Started with a cup of coffee, and pretty much continued in the vain of fluids ALL morning, (you need them or YOU WILL DIE) over here. measurements sorted, tools arranged wood marked, we set about doing the business. a couple of hours later and a masterpiece was created from a bunch of timer! I don’t know how, but i seemed to have gained a house painting job from this one, (not a bad day at all). The problem with working into the afternoon, is the fact that you don’t really become aware that your skin is slowly crisping, my forearms became like crackling from a pork roast, and i didn’t even notice until it was too late.
A full bottle of aftersun should work, if not ill just cry and start wearing cardigans and scarves. The heat was affecting different folk in different ways. i came back afterward sot get a sandwich from my local pub, and even the locals were suffering, it shouldn’t have, but it made me feel better.(i had just burnt) but i was fine. At this time i was informed that the weather would get worse (sunnier) so the tai of scarves and cardigans may not be too far fetched. A COLD bath and a little lie down really helped, apart from the fact that i didn’t wake up until just before England kicked off!!! Oops!
The Air con is on in my bedroom now and i will leave it for about an hour (i don’t care about the bills) then ill retire back into my fridge for an evening of chilled bliss!!! (short and sweet, but i slept most of the afternoon, and sweated most of the morning)
For Skye! X
