Now I’ve heard tell of a lovely place to eat a nice Indian meal.  Clues in the name really. It’s ’The Curry House’ and it doesn’t disappoint so far. It’s a house that sells curry. And illcohol, and it’s right next to my fucking gaff (never knew) popadoms and pickley stuff are as usual, but the Raita tastes quite sublim when I think of what I get from other places… the meal goes on.

Herbs in the decor!

Atmospherically, we are there. The street smells like shit and beggars are trying to fleece you for the money in your pocket. lol no, I’m kidding. The place (and area) is quite clean actually.  The traffic is lite  and the foot fall is quiet.

Not quite what I expected.

Right, starters. King prawn butterfly. Hmm. If you have a look at the pic can you guess what sort of butterfly this is supposed to be? For that matter, what sort of king prawn is it? I’m letting it slide as it’s near the end of the summer season and getting prawns to look like prawns may be a little difficult right now. The taste? Not too sure about that atm. I’m getting rubber. I know it’s not, but I get it. Probably the spices or the cooking of it, but defo rubber (not in texture, just in after taste) I’m sure I’m doing something wrong with my tastebuds.

Out of focus but filled to the brim

The meat samosa….love it, I made them years ago and the recipe must have been the same as these. The pastry is crumbly, the meat is seasoned perfectly and the accompanying dips range from sweet; to green to fuck me that’s not worth the bother. Main is on the way.

Yeah, get the sauce

Okay, if they ask you if you want sauce… say YES. Otherwise it’s just grilled tasty chicken and rice (my fault) but the chicken was cooked perfect, hardly any chewing, it was tender and flavoursome. The rice was lemon coloured, no too much lemon flavoured, but it had nuts in. You’re fucked if you don’t read the ingredients. Unfortunately when I went to spoon it into me plate, I spilled at least half of the fucker in the table (another lesson there me thinks)  naan bread is flatbread with a little flavour, don’t expect the fluffy pillows you get back in the uk. Tastes pashwarwi ish though, so points secured for flavour.

Just over from here

All in all, it was a local curry at the end of the season in a place that was filled with dwindling holiday makers on their last meal before they fly back to the cold. I heard stories that this place is wonderful, I’m slightly underwhelmed but still happy to have tried it. It was a good end of week meal with a jack and coke.

( haven’t had a hot towel in forever after a meal) couldn’t eat it though!!!

Adam Adamson still is an awesome shag... Well he is. Honest. But whatever, he has always loved to write, even before he could write. Its been a passion of his since he realised that others would read his stuff and get a little emotional. That gripped him really. Was it good or was it crap? Anyhoo! Enjoy reading what i’ve scribbled and who knows… one day it might make sense.
