Swipe right, I’m sure all contacts gone,

No first date nerves, no sly ‘C’mon’

She’s got the app, she must be game!

I’ll just swipe left, they’re all the same.

A common thread connects our ‘likes’

We love outdoors and mountain bikes,

To take long walks and catch the sun

Whilst holding hands and having fun.

Ideals are honed from lustful dreams

All semblance of your hopes it seems.

But, is she out there, living life?

A wedding band? Some others wife?

Now if you meet her, how to start?

No pouring of your love lost heart.

A pondered kiss to mark the day

When someone stole your heart away?

The Gods collide, all thunder roars

The heavens cheer your noble cause

To find ‘The One’, and settle down

No more your sorrows will you drown.

Those years roll on in wedded bliss

No more alone, no fear to miss

To carry on your family name,

The girl you married wants the same.

A chink of darkness breaks the spell.

There tolls a sound. For whom the bell?

The spark of love, it’s fading light

That candle starts to die tonight.

A life of wonder shifts from view

No one’s to blame, not her, not you

So sit, rejoin that dating site

Bring up those girls and just ‘swipe right’

Adam Adamson still is an awesome shag... Well he is. Honest. But whatever, he has always loved to write, even before he could write. Its been a passion of his since he realised that others would read his stuff and get a little emotional. That gripped him really. Was it good or was it crap? Anyhoo! Enjoy reading what i’ve scribbled and who knows… one day it might make sense.
